Akitsa has been among my top tier for a decade, and this is probably their most consistent album. Their experimental period seems to be over and they've definitely settled on an overall sound here, not too far from early Burzum. It's great, although I do miss the unhinged, hateful vibe of their earlier stuff. grahamy

If this indeed turns out to be the last Sol Invictus album, it will be a very rare case of a great, long lasting band ending on their very highest note. A masterpiece. Wizwoof
